I was lucky enough to work with Therese as part of a mentorship in Melbourne Australia. She’s incredibly hard working and has a fantastic style.

She’s used social media to connect with people in our industry and as a source of inspiration. Yet, she’s managed to present and evolve a very personal style that has given her a unique selling point.

Therese has put a lot of time and energy into her family, and now that her girls have left school, she’s ready to make the best of her time. Getting paid to do what she loves.

Let’s celebrate Therese’s results! ~ Rachel

Two Loves Studio Student Success Story - Therese Bourne

Before I began the Food Photography Pro Mastermind I felt overwhelmed, even powerless.

I knew that I wanted to become a professional food photographer and actually get paid for my work, but I wasn't sure what steps to take to get to started

I felt frustrated and that led to a lack of motivation.

I got less and less motivated and was unable to see my path clearly. I just didn't know how to start.

It seemed the more I wanted it, the more overwhelmed I became. I got less and less motivated and was unable to see my path clearly.

I just didn't know how to start.

This course came into my life at the perfect time - like an answer to my prayers (really!) I had done two of Rachel's courses previously and I knew her experience and teaching style.

I trusted her and knew the FPP course would teach me exactly what I needed to know to get myself out of the rut and get started.

I wasn't left wondering how to start - I know exactly what I'm supposed to do at each step.

I loved the lessons on contracts, quotes and negotiation, and also the spreadsheets on how to cost my work and the breakdown process over a whole year.

I was inspired by the talks from the photographers - especially Jonathon Thompson and Aysegul Sanford. I loved the weekly live calls and found listening to Rachel explain things in person very helpful.

Also, the other students on the calls asked great questions I may not have considered.

The course was completely targeted - I didn't feel that any single part of it didn't apply to me. Everything did!

I loved that the content got right down to the basics of how to do the difficult business parts. I wasn't left wondering how to start - I know exactly what I'm supposed to do at each step.

I could work flexibly at my own pace, but was held accountable with reading, homework and live calls which kept me motivated.

I was very proud of the images I created for the shoot.

I had the confidence to approach a small but well-known local business (I bought and shot some of their cakes and posted on Insta and tagged them to get them to notice me) and was offered a paid shoot.

FPP taught me how to properly create a contract and quote for the job.

It also taught me how to resolve an issue during the negotiation stage and it was successful. I got paid for the job and also successfully negotiated an overtime fee (I would never have had the confidence to do that before FPP)

I was very proud of the images I created for the shoot.

I am excited to be putting my skills into practice more, and feeling the confidence that I have the right knowledge to deal with things that may not go smoothly.

I also know that I can call on Rachel or my fellow students with questions and feedback.

I know I'm not isolated anymore.

My confidence has soared and I've had the confidence to enter competitions, approach magazines and pitch for paid work, all successfully

Since approaching Rachel in early 2017, and subsequently taking her courses Lightroom Magic, Composition Essentials and Food Photography Pro, and being lucky enough to be mentored by her, it is clear to see the huge steps up in my work.

I found the course empowering, inspiring and fun. I felt I was making practical strides towards my goal with plenty of support.

My confidence has soared after each course and I've had the confidence to enter competitions, approach magazines and pitch for paid work, all successfully. I feel I can now step forward and grab all the opportunities that come my way, and also make my own.

My photographic style is minimal with an emphasis on dramatic light. My dream is to work with magazines and cookbook publishers.
